The Capel Marron Farm

Functions

Conferences, celebrations & long lunches on a working marron farm — catered from our own water.

Welcome

Somewhere your people will remember.

We’re a working freshwater farm — 90 spring-fed ponds on the Capel River, where we’ve raised Western Australia’s marron since 1988. The same pavilion that draws couples for weddings is one of the South West’s most versatile function spaces the rest of the week.

Conferences and team days, milestone birthdays, club lunches, tour groups and wakes — we host them all, one at a time, with the ponds and open sky as the backdrop and the kitchen just metres from the water.

Tell us who’s coming and what the day needs to do. We’ll take care of the rest — the room, the feed, the coffee and the quiet moment out by the water.

The Setting

A room that does the work for you.

The pavilion is built from timber reclaimed from the old Fremantle Jetty, with a stone hearth, high steel ceilings and glass on three sides looking straight over the water. It’s equally at home as a boardroom, a banquet hall or a party.

We’re 25 minutes south of Bunbury and about two hours from Perth — close enough for a day trip, far enough that the phones go quiet and people actually talk to each other. Ample on-site parking, room for a coach, and a working farm to walk after lunch.

The things organisers always ask

Can you do full-day catering?

Yes — arrival coffee, morning and afternoon tea, and a working or seated lunch, all timed to your run sheet.

What about dietaries?

Every dietary catered — gluten free, vegan, allergies. Send us the list and we’ll build around it.

Do you have AV?

A large screen, microphone, whiteboards and reliable Wi-Fi are included. Bring a laptop and you’re set.

Can coaches get in?

Easily. There’s coach and car parking on site, and we’re a straightforward drive from Bunbury and Busselton.

Is there a farm tour?

A guided walk of the working marron ponds can be added to any function — a great way to break up a long day.

How small can we go?

From a dozen guests up to 300. Same ponds, same kitchen, same welcome.

After Dark

The part people talk about afterwards.

Roving canapés and a live band, the fire pits lit out on the lawn, and the pavilion doors thrown open to the dark. Functions here don’t end when the plates are cleared.
